Suellen Smith Carter January 22, 1947 – January 24, 2018

Mrs. Suellen Smith Carter, 71, of Eastover was called home on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Surrounded by her loving family, she quietly and peacefully left this life and went on to be with her Savior.

Suellen was born January 22, 1947 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to the late John Bowden Smith, Sr., and Carolyn Beard Smith.

She graduated from Central High School in 1965, and went on to receive a degree from Campbell College in 1969. She was a dedicated teacher with the Cumberland County Schools for 30 years, serving at both Montclair Elementary School and Sunnyside Elementary School.

A member of Lebanon Baptist Church for over 60 years, Suellen served her Lord faithfully in many capacities - as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, and most especially as the church organist. Her gift of music was such an integral part of worship, and the silen
